The Halloween Hermit Crab is usually found in a elongated brownish shell. The crab has unusual stripping around each orange leg.
The Halloween Hermit Crab is a multiple function cleaner and will consume hard to reach algae, cyanobacteria and uneaten food waste. House with peaceful fish such as tangs and damselfish and never house with any predatory fish or invertebrates such as starfish. Provide plenty of well-established live rock and keep one crab per ten gallons of water. These crabs may attack snails in search of upgrading their shells; keep a supply of trade-up shells on the substrate. Supplement diet if algae is scarce with algae strips or flakes.
Crabs are aggressive scavengers and will leave no stone unturned to seek food. Supplement their diet with algae, small meaty foods and pellet foods.
