The Blue Spiny lobster or Painted lobster is the most beautiful of all lobsters. It has shades of blue and black with white outlines that separate the colors. It has long independent moving antennas used to feel objects in the water. They see shapes and colors very well with their large round eyes.
The Spiny lobster will do well in a large peaceful community tank without other bottom dwellers. Have good water movement. Keep single as the only invertebrate in the tank and provide adequate think sandy substrate for burrowing with climbing areas and crevices in live rock for hiding. They are primarily nocturnal and will show little movement in the daytime.
Feed a variety of meaty foods including silversides and shrimp. They really go for the Ocean Nutrition Formula One Pellets.
