The Purple Reef Lobster has a lavender body with orange legs. It is equivalent in size to a fresh water crawfish. It has long independent moving antennas used to feel objects in the water. They see shapes and colors very well with their large round eyes.
The Purple Reef Lobster is a hardy lobster and perfect in a peaceful community tank despite their menacing claws, and will add attractive beauty grazing on the marine terrain. Keep single as the only invertebrate in the tank and provide adequate area for movement with climbing areas. Have thick sandy substrate and crevices for hiding. They are primarily nocturnal and will show little movement in the daytime. Will scavenge uneaten food and waste.
Feed a variety of meaty foods including silversides and shrimp. They really go for the Ocean Nutrition Formula One Pellets.
