Description
The Emperor Angelfish is a favorite in large fish only systems. The Emperor Angelfish as an adult has a striking and flawless presence in the tank. Adults have a dark blue body covered by an array of yellow lateral stripes with blue highlights around the fins and head area. The tail is yellow with a black mask over its eyes and a white mouth. Juveniles are still inspiring with their blue and black color and white marble like patterns in the body.
The Emperor Angelfish grows large and will need a respectable size tank with lots of swimming area as it matures. Keep the Emperor Angelfish only one per tank with plenty of live rock for grazing and shelter. The Emperor Angelfish will nip at most anything in the tank including corals and small invertebrates.
Angelfish will accept a wide variety of dry prepared, frozen and live foods; some examples are marine algae and mysis shrimp. It is good to mix up the food during the week for adequate nutrition.
