Description

The Blue Angelfish is very similar to the Queen Angelfish.  Both adults have a yellow and blue shaded body with iridescent blue accents and green hues, howeverthe Blue Angelfish has a bluish gray tail fin with a yellow margin in the tail and the Queen has a solid yellow tail.  The juvenile Blue Angelfish has a dark body with thin straight white body bars that run vertically and yellowing around the mouth and tail.

The Blue is a notorious nipper and even can nip at delicate stingrays.  It will nip at many corals and is not safe for reef tanks.  It’s best to keep one Blue per tank and to preferably add last.  House in a large tank with plenty of swimming room and live rock.  May nip at a variety of invertebrates.

Angelfish will accept a wide variety of dry prepared, frozen and live foods; some examples are marine algae and mysis shrimp.  It is good to mix up the food during the week for adequate nutrition.  However when you want the ease of feeding, try Ocean Nutrition Formula One, as it provides easy solid nutrition for your angelfish.
