Description

The Flagfin Angelfish or Three-Spot Angelfish has a bright yellow body and glowing blue lips.  It has a black spot on its forehead, one above the eye and a faded one behind the gills.

The Flagfin Angelfish requires demanding care from the hobbyist and will need a vitamin-enriched diet to maintain color and health.  It is a docile angelfish and juveniles do not accept food well at first.  Once acclimated, the Flagfin is ideal for a peaceful community tank. The Flagfin Angelfish will nip at many corals and is not safe for reef tanks.   House in at least a 120 gallon tank with plenty of swimming room and live rock for grazing.  Provide good shelter areas within the live rock.  May nip at a variety of invertebrates in the tank.

Angelfish will accept a wide variety of dry prepared, frozen and live foods; some examples are marine algae and mysis shrimp.  It is good to mix up the food during the week for adequate nutrition.  However when you want the ease of feeding, try Ocean Nutrition Formula One, as it provides easy solid nutrition for your angelfish.
