The Black Boxfish or Spotted Boxfish has a typical boxfish shape. It has a dark colored body with an array of small white spots. The males will have a brilliant blue background with white spots.
The Black Boxfish is not the best reef inhabitant because it can pick at some invertebrates. Best kept in a larger tank with other peaceful inhabitants. Boxfish can release a toxin when stressed that can kill other fish. You may choose to have a designated Boxfish tank; they can be interesting specimen to observe.
