Description
The Black Back Butterflyfish, or Melannotus Butterflyfish, has a white body outlined in a bright yellow with a series of dynamic black slanted lines in the mid-center. The eyes have a black band over them.
The Black Back Butterflyfish is a stunning addition to a fish-only tank. However, it is a little difficult to acclimate. You may even need to dim lighting during the process. Will get along with many different species of fish providing that they are peaceful. Have lots of good swimming area and live rock for grazing and hiding. Will nip at coral and invertebrates and not recommended for a reef tank.
To initiate feeding, offer a variety of small frozen foods such as mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp and cyclopeeze. Train your butterflyfish to eat Formula One Small Pellets or Flakes 
for a healthy diet.
