The Banded Eel has a zebra pattern down its pale white body; the head and mouth parts are very similar to the classic cousin the Snowflake Eel.
The Banded Eel is very hardy and does well in captivity. Provide the Banded Eel with lots of anchored live rock for shelter. Keep only one with aggressive tank mates and have good sealing on the overflows and lids. Not recommended in a reef tank or with invertebrates.
Feed with feeding stick to ensure your eel gets food. Eels will eat all meaty foods including fish, shrimp, squid, and some frozen prepared foods. Use a long feeding rod to feed your eel. They can be trained to associate when it’s feeding time.
