Description

The Two Banded Soapfish or Barred Soapfish has a muted yellow colored body and two black bands, one down the center of its body and the other over its eyes.  As it matures the colors will become sharper.

It may hide when first placed in the tank, and then will quickly assimilate. Like all Soapfish, they can release toxic mucus from their skin under stress.  They can and will eat any fish they can swallow despite their calm demeanor.  They can be added to the tank at the same time in pairs or groups. Have good hiding places in live rock.

Do not transfer the shipping water to the aquarium.

Feed a variety of meaty foods such as silversides and frozen shrimp.  Try saturating food in liquid vitamins and garlic for good fish health.
