The Arc Eye Hawkfish has an orange colored body and a white stripe starting in the center and extending to the tail. Behind the eye is a radiant oblong marking of blue and orange. The gills are outlinded in orange accents.
This is a formidable looking fish for its size. The face and mouth are very grouper-like. It will threaten fish added later into the aquarium. Provide plenty of live rock to inhabit. Best to keep only one per tank. May attack smaller fish and most delicate invertebrates.
Most hawkfish will eat a variety of frozen meaty foods. Try to train your hawkish to eat Ocean Nutrition Pellets for a healthy diet.
