The Lyretail Hogfish with its ultra fancy fin display sports an orangish brown head than changes to white at the midsection and continues to the back half of the body. The white area has dispersed red accents that reach to the long flowing forked tail.
This Lyretail Hogfish is one of the least aggressive hogfish. It does well in an aquarium with plenty of hiding spaces and adequate swimming area. Keep with semi-aggressive fish that can fend for themselves. You may see the Lyretail Hogfish blowing jets of water into the substrate in search of organisms to eat in the substrate.
