The Dog Face Puffer or Blackspotted Puffer is usually gray to brown with some yellowing. There are sporadic black spots through-out the body. The Dog Face Puffer has a powerful beak for crushing hard shell invertebrates. It will usually wrap its tail inward for a sense of security.
The Dog Face Puffer is a adorable specimen and is quite shy and may stay secluded and rest most of the day. Keep with non-competitive tank-mates. Have plenty of live rock for shelter for the Dogface Pufferfish. The Pufferfish will dismantle and consume smaller fish and inverts in the tank.
Never use a net to transfer a puffer.
Feed a variety of meaty foods. Pufferfish really go for squid and clams. Train your puffer to eat Ocean Nutrition Formula One Pellets for extra nutrition.
