The Stars and Stripe Puffer is just that. The top half of its body has a white star-like pattern and the bottom half has stripes, more vivid yellowing shades and spotting will occur as it matures.
The Stars and Stripes Puffer moves around with its pectoral fins like a dirigible but can move quickly in need with its large tail fin. Very shy when first introduced but will quickly get bolder and more personable. The Stars and Stripes Puffer is capable of growing fast; provide good shelter places in live rock with adequate swimming area. Puffers will eat smaller fish and invertebrates in the tank or may nip at some.
Never use a net to transfer a puffer.
Feed a variety of meaty foods. Pufferfish really go for shrimp, squid and clams. Train your puffer to eat Ocean Nutrition Formula One Pellets for extra nutrition.
