The Vlamingii Tang or Unicornfish has a flattened head and mouth area. It boasts a light blue body with tiny sporadic purple spots.
The Vlamingii Tang will grow quite large and requires ample swimming area. The Vlamingii Tang is a amusing fish to watch and dominates the attention of its owner. Have plenty of live rock for grazing and shelter. It is very hardy and will get along fine with other tangs in most all situations.
Have plenty of live rock in your tank. Tangs will graze on the live rock and it will provide necessary hiding areas and swim pass-throughs.
Tangs will eat just about all fish foods; Ocean Nutrition Pellets are a perfect diet. Feed tangs with plenty of marine-based seaweed, as this will keep them healthy. Try putting seaweed on a veggie clip, or break into small pieces and feed 2-3 times per week. Ocean Nutrition Seaweed contains garlic which helps the immune system in these colorful fish.
