The Black Durgeon Triggerfish, Blackfinned Triggerfish or Hawaiian Triggerfish has a golden brown to black shaded body and black fins with thin white accents on the base of the fins.
The Black Hawaiian Trigger is really big personality and is a very opportunistic feeder. The Black Hawaiian Trigger stays at a manageable size yet not a small triggerfish by any means, this guy likes to show you who the boss is. The Black Hawaiian Trigger is a good entry level trigger that is very hardy and also very active at times, have ample swimming area in the tank. Provide adequate shelter areas in live rock.
Triggerfish are durable specimens that require large tanks with plenty of live rock. They have sharp teeth and powerful jaws for crushing. Belligerent triggers will attack all invertebrates and most will try to rearrange live rock. Keep in aggressive fish only tank with few exceptions. It is best to add triggerfish of the same size and at the same time to prevent skirmishing.
Feed a variety of meaty foods and vitamin enriched foods such as Ocean Nutrition Formula One Pellets in their diet.
