The Yellow Banded Possum Wrasse or Pigmy Possum Wrasse is an interesting looking and hardy wrasse. Juveniles have pointed heads with a reddish orange body and thin white vertical bands; one at the head area another at the base of the tail fin. As the fish ages it will become a darker rust color.
An ideal fish for a reef tank and it will not harm invertebrates. One male can be housed with several females if introduced simultaneously. Have plenty of live rock and lots of good hiding places with thick sandy substrate. The Possum Wrasse is known for jumping; make sure you have a snug lid on the aquarium.
The wrasse will consume a wide variety of foods. Feed vitamin enriched frozen and dry foods. Train your wrasse to eat Ocean Nutrition Pellet Food for a healthy diet.
